1. Who we are
This website, sweetgarden.org, is run by Sweet Garden General Trading Co. LLC, a company registered in Dubai and part of the Aal Mir Group. In this policy, "Sweet Garden", "we" and "us" mean that company.
We are the controller of the personal data you send us through this website. We handle it in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the "PDPL"), its implementing regulations and any other UAE laws that apply to us. As we are based in mainland Dubai, the PDPL is the law that governs this website (the separate DIFC and ADGM data protection laws do not apply).
Address: # 598/932, Community 598, 78 Street, Dubai Investment Park, Jebel Ali, P.O. Box 21648, Dubai, UAE.
2. What we collect
We only collect what you give us in an enquiry form.
| Source | Personal data |
|---|---|
| New brand enquiry | Name, job title, company, brand name(s), website, email, phone, country of origin, product category, where the brand sells today, current GCC presence and your message. |
| Trade enquiry | Name, company, store or group name, emirate, email, phone and your message. |
| General enquiry | Name, email, phone, subject and your message. |
Please don't include sensitive personal data (for example health or financial details) in an enquiry. This website is meant for businesses and is not aimed at children.
3. How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and pass it to the right person in our team.
- To assess a brand for distribution, and to discuss supply, listings or orders with retailers and trade buyers.
- To keep a record of our business correspondence.
- To keep the website secure, for example by blocking spam sent through the forms.
Under the PDPL we may only process personal data on a lawful basis:
- Enquiries: we rely on your consent, given when you tick the consent box and send a form, and on the need to take the steps you have asked for before entering into a contract with us.
- Records we must keep: we rely on our legal obligations under UAE law.
We only collect what we need for these purposes and do not use it for anything unrelated. We do not sell your personal data, we do not make decisions about you by automated means alone, and we will not add you to marketing emails without asking first.
4. Who we share it with
- Our team: enquiries are stored in our website admin system and sent to info@sweetgarden.org, where they are read by the staff who need to deal with them.
- Aal Mir Group companies, where an enquiry is better handled by another company in the group.
- Service providers who host and maintain the website and our email, under contract and only on our instructions. Our website is hosted by GoDaddy Inc. and our email is provided by Zoho Corporation.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
5. Transfers outside the UAE
Our website is hosted on servers in the United States (GoDaddy Inc.) and our email on servers in India (Zoho Corporation), so personal data you send us through this website is transferred outside the UAE. We only make these transfers as Articles 22 and 23 of the PDPL allow: to a country whose data protection law the UAE Data Office recognises as adequate, or otherwise with suitable contractual safeguards or your express consent.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any business relationship that follows, and then for 24 months afterwards. After that it is deleted or anonymised.
7. Security
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Access to the admin system is limited to authorised staff with their own login. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from loss, misuse or unauthorised access, as the PDPL requires. If a breach puts your data at risk, we will notify the UAE Data Office and, where required, the people affected, without undue delay.
8. Cookies
We only use cookies that the website needs to work, for example to protect the forms from spam. We do not use cookies to track you or for advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the forms may not work properly without them.
9. Your rights
Under Articles 13 to 19 of the PDPL you have the right to:
- be informed about the data we hold on you, why we use it, who receives it and how long we keep it, and to have a copy of it, free of charge;
- data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another controller where technically possible;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- erasure of data we no longer need or that has been processed unlawfully;
- restrict how we use your data, for example while you dispute its accuracy;
- stop processing, including for direct marketing;
- object to automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects (we do not make any);
- withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To make a request, email info@sweetgarden.org with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within 30 days, or the period set by the PDPL regulations. If you are not happy with how we have handled your request, you can complain to the UAE Data Office.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
